8 Sept. 1944 (Friday)

Dearest Kitten:
In a few days be on the look out for an airmail package. I have not mailed it yet but will do so in the next few days. Am only waiting for one more thing and it will be on its way. I can only hope that you like the contents. It took me quite some time to get all the articles together but perseverance and hard work won out. I am apt to break my arm by patting myself on the back that way, huh?
Letters #87-8 90-1 came yesterday and also one from Ce and one from John. They were a month old. Now I will have to get on the ball and answer them. I am in a rather peculiar situation, it is not the work that I do that takes my time up it is the interruptions that bother me mostly. No matter where I am or go there is always someone wanting something or other. My time is not my own. Such is the life of a 1st Sgt.
I am getting into the habit of going over to the show at 7:00 P.M. and it gives me a good deal of relaxation. At least I am not being bothered every other second by someone who could find out what they wanted from one of the other sergeants.
It has been too d--- long sine the last time that I took you in my arms and told you how much that I loved you. By the looks of the news it may not be too long till the time when this is all over and we will be able to return to the ones that we love. Then I will be able to take you in my arms and tell you of my great love for you.
Thanks for the box. It came Tuesday and did I enjoy the can of soup. Please send some more mushroom soup if you can get some. That sure was good. One more request, send me some #120 film if you can, and also some sensitized paper for making prints.
The pictures that you sent in letter #90 is not too good. A couple of them were nice but the majority were spoiled. Enclosed you will find three pictures. They were taken one Saturday afternoon when we went up to the river to the Koala bear farm. That is two of them are. The one with the Lt. piloting a boat is a picture given to me by my old platoon officer. He is Lt. White and was in charge of my until I took over the Operation section.
Reading from left to right in the other picture is, Sgt. Ellis, Pvt's Karnes, G Jones, and myself.
By golly by the pictures, my family will be almost fully grown by the time I get home if I don't watch out. They sure are cute and I miss them more than I can tell. Of course I don't miss you -   MUCH.
You must know by now that I wrote to Mrs. Fuller when you told me about her husband's death. He was only an acquaintance but they treated me so well the few times that I was up there that it was my duty to write.
Last night I went to town and had a spaghetti dinner with my supply sergeant. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The supply sergeant is only a young fellow but a swell egg. He and I hang out together a lot and usually go to town together. His home is in New York City and is very much in love with a girl back home. When we get together we are always talking about our girl friends back home. I give him all the find points in handling his wife-to-be.
Well sweetheart as much as I hate to end this letter I have to as I am all run out. Give my regards to everyone & kiss the babies for me.
Your Loving, Devoted, & Faithful Husband,
Bob
