Dearest Kitten:
Tonight was bank nite for me. I received three letters from you. #33-4 & 5. Yesterday I received two letters. One from my Aunt and one from Doris Hall. Do you know Doris Hall? Neither do I. It seems that she works at Alexander's Market and upon opening a roll of pennies she came across my name and address. It must have been some time ago because she addressed me as S/Sgt and sent it to our last station. She must have gotten one of our roll of pennies and my name and address must have been on it. Funny huh?
Your letters are so cheering to receive Sweetheart. Somehow or other your letters seem to be different and I get a bigger kick out of them than ever it seems. Or it could be that I miss you so much that when I receive a letter from you it makes me feel closer to you. Gosh but I love you Beautiful. Every night after dark I get a lonesome feeling. It is cause I can not get used to not returning home to you after a day's work is over. Let us hope that it will not be too long before I will be doing just that.
Since entering the Army, I do not seem to be able to relax the way I used to when I was home. The only way that I can explain it is that I miss you so much that I will never find peace until I can return home to you with the realization that I do not have to leave you in so many days.
Julie must be a happy girl. I only wish that another girl I know was expecting the same thing. Give her my regards and best wishes.
Lorraine will learn how to handle her junior. Just give her a little time and she will find the right combination. I bet that she is very proud of her son.
Bobby is a lucky boy. Maybe he will turn out to be one of those naturally lucky youngsters.
You must be getting to be quite a seamstress. Very nearly every letter I receive, you are just starting to make something or just completing it.
I can visualize Barby being coy with Bobby to please him. Gosh but I miss being a daddy to my own youngsters. It is a lot more fun than trying to be a daddy to a bunch of grown youngsters, such as I have on my hands.
...
So our daughter is a big tease the same as her father. You will have your hands full by the time that your husband gets home. Between your husband and two children teasing you, you have a great time ahead of you.
It must have been fun to watch the children on the merry-go-round. See all that I am missing and will have to make up for, upon returning home.
Buying a home is very nice but under the circumstances it would be a foolish move. I am glad that you thought better of it.
You have not changed any since I left home. You wanted to know if I would like to be in Charlie's position so that we could try out a new mattress. I wrote back asking you if birds fly. The answer is of course yes.
There are a number of things that I sent home, by the time that this letter reaches you, you should have received a set of wooden salt & pepper shakers for your knick knack shelf. Also a card with all the Australian coins on it. There is more to come but I will not tell you as it would spoil the pleasure of opening the packages.
You have nothing to worry about these Aussie Dames. There is no one who can even attempt to take your place. I love you Sweetheart with all my heart.
I miss you so much that it is not even funny. There is nothing that I would rather do right now than to take you in my arms and pitch a little woo with you.
This is all for now so give my regards to everyone & kiss the babies for me.
Your Loving, Devoted, & Faithful Husband
Bob
