Dearest Kitten
Here it is Friday and my thoughts are of previous Fridays before my weekend. How I used to sweat in anticipation of not being able to get home at the last minute.
My love for you is so great and compelling that it gives me no rest. It is continually tormenting me with thoughts of getting home.
Since landing here, it has not been so bad, because I know that it will take a furlough to allow me to get home to see you again. Tonight they are going to make the announcement about weekend passes for this week.
They are furnishing a convoy of twenty trucks for the whole brigade. There will be about thirty five men from each company allowed out.
From what I have heard, Tallahassee is about as large as Ogunquit. You can imagine what it will be like with a couple of thousand soldiers in a town like that.

I bet that Pat is a proud Daddy. And a boy at that. There will be no holding him now. I can just imagine how he is. Give him my congratulations.
As soon as I finish this letter I will write to Eva. She must be a happy girl, now that is all over.
I just got back from chow after which the first three graders had a meeting. The pass situation is going to be as I told you about in the beginning of this letter. Thirty five men from the company. That means a weekend pass every three months unless they change it.
Your letter of Monday came today as you perhaps have guessed.
Do you think you have a chance of getting into the Housing Project? Is Mother going in with you? If she does, it will be a bit easier for you if she does and pays you board. At Christmas time I plan to change my allotment to $100.00 for you. Right now there are a few things in the wind that makes me want to hang onto some money.
A possible furlough in a few months and other things. Just do not ask questions and I will tell you no lies.
Last night I went to the show and saw "I Dood it" with Red Skelton & (?) Eleanor Powell. Tonight is "Swing Shift Maisie" with Ann Sothern. I think that I will attend so that I can dream of you as being in her place.
I love you Sweetheart. So much so that I am positive that you are the most Beautiful wife in the world, although I know that there are other wives that are just as beautiful if not more so. As long as I am happy to think and remember you as such, I will be contented to a certain degree. The only thing that would place me in a complete contentment would be a discharge so that I could return to you and our family.
I love you.
Give my regards to everyone & kiss the babies for me.
Your Loving, Devoted, & Faithful Husband
Bob
