4:45 P.M.
Dearest
Kitten
I love you
with all my heart and soul. All that I seem to be living for is the day that I
will be allowed to return to your arms for good. Every night I pray that the
day of my return may not be too far distant.
I would
gladly make a great many sacrifices if I could but hold you in my arms again.
To hold your loveliness in my arms again would be a treat beyond compare. Just
to hold you and kiss you would send my heart into a tantrum that would alarm a
doctor.
Every night
before falling asleep I think of the nice times we will have together again
upon my return.
Last night
S/Sgts St Jean, Gore, and myself went into the main camp. Now I am content to
stay in the area. They have a large P.X. and Service Club. We priced the
pictures, and at my first chance, I will go in and have some taken. If you do
have some taken, I will certainly break your neck if you do not send me one.
All we did
was walk around, had two beers, two sandwiches, and a cigar. The only reason I
will go in again is to have the pictures taken.
Gosh! but I
love you, Beautiful.
Your letter
of Monday was delivered tonight. (Just got back from retreat, we have to stand
retreat every night).
I am feeling
fine and wish that you could send yourself down here. I am sure that you would
not like it though. The only places that they have nice homes are in the
cities. The towns are crummy.
If you send
me a pair of sunglasses, I assure you that they will be greatly appreciated.
Out on the water the sun is very hard on the eyes.
I can imagine
how Millie must feel. Lorraine is extremely fortunate to receive a letter every
day.
Stop blaming
yourself so much because of not being home the last time that I called. It was
unfortunate but there is nothing that can be done about it, so forget it. By
the way, do you realize how much work it would be if you decided to move? Well
the whole week before we move was a very busy one. We were all busy from
morning till dark. It is no easy job to move troops.
That feeling of
your wanting something and never being satisfied with anything is exactly the
way I feel too. No fun huh?
Sorry to say
that most of our training is "MS". We are training an Infantry
Division and that is about all I can tell you about it.
Thanks for
the kiss. The imprint of your lips bring pleasant memories. I will never squawk
again about your smearing lipstick on me if and when this mess is over and I
get home again.
It is funny
but before I start a letter to you, I can think of all kinds of things to write,
but as I write, I can not seem to remember everything.
The weather
is not too bad now or perhaps it is due to the fact that I am getting used to
it.
I love you, Sweetheart.
Always remember that.
Give my
regards to everyone & kiss the babies for me
Your Loving,
Devoted, & Faithful Husband
Bob
